Offa Bank robbery: 9 policemen killed as death toll hits 30

The number of casualties from Thursday bank robbery in Offa town of Kwara State has increased to thirty, with nine policemen reported to be among the victims.

According to the reports the group of arm robbers also attacked a police station in the area.

Over 25 robbers invaded the town in seven vehicles and raided about five commercial banks and made away with several millions of naira reported daily post. 

One of the doctors at the General Hospital Offa told Channels TV that 21 bodies were brought in to the facility and nine of them were police officers.

The doctor on duty at a private hospital also in the town confirmed the death of three victims while one was on admission.

Meanwhile, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed has promised to pay the medical bills of victims.
