Chelsea Legend and all time top scorer Frank Lampard retires from professional football

Chelsea Legend, and all time top scorer Frank Lampard has announce his retirement from football. Lampard 38 called time to a stunning career spanning over 21years after seeing out his contract with New York City, Lamps also featured for West Ham, Chelsea, and Manchester City. Lampard will forever be remembered at Stamford Bridge where he spend over 13years of his playing career with an incredible 11 trophies to show for it.


Lampard became Chelsea all time top scorer in 2013 when he netted a brace against Aston Villa to surpass Bobby Tambling's tally of 202 before making the record his with 211 goals for Chelsea in all competition. Lampard is one of  the few midfielders to have scored 300 career goals, he achieved the feat last year while at New York City.

Only John Terry, Peter Bonetti , and Ron Harris made more Chelsea appearances than Frank, His 11 trophies includes  one Champions League, three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, two League Cups, one Europa League. His 147 goals in the EPL is seconded to only Tambling's tally of 164. There is no doubt that Lampard is arguably the greatest midfielders of all time.
 
Lampard is set to take a coaching course as he will be eyeing a managerial roll at Stamford Bridge in the near future. This is indeed the departure of a true legend only few can argue that.
