Police In Akwa Ibom Arrest Fake Youth Corps Member At Orientation Camp





Police in Akwa Ibom state have arrested a fake youth corps member at the state NYSC orientation camp in Nsit Atai Local Government Area.

A statement signed by the command's spokesperson, DSP Chukwu Ikechukwu, said based on intelligence received by policemen at the orientation camp, they swung into action and arrested one Mr. Justice Orlu Ordu, and indigene of Ikwere in Rivers State, in Monday Uko’s Hostel in the orientation camp.


When questioned, he admitted of being a fake corps member who forged NYSC call-up letter claiming to have graduated from University of Uyo from the department of Architecture. He will be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.


The State Commissioner of Police, CP Zubairu Muazu assured members of the public that the Command has put in place an intelligence led policing in effort to reduce crime in the state.
