American Rapper DMX Charged With Tax Evasion
American rapper, DMX has been charged to court for allegedly evading $1.7million in tax payment by US federal prosecutors. According to the reports the recording artists allegedly engaged in a year scheme to conceal millions of dollars income from the US government and avoided paying $1.7million in taxes.
The rapper whose real name is Earl Simmons, was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of tax evasion and other similar offences. He will be arraign in a federal court in Manhattan today.
Summons' lawyer, Murray Richman, said by phone that Simmons plans to enter a not guilty plea at his arraignment on Friday.
If convicted, the 'x gon' singer faces a maximum of 44 years in prison on each of the charges, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
