Transfer Update: Zlatan Ibrahimovic Released By Manchester United

Manchester United have decided against extending the contract of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, despite the fact that the big Swede was outstanding in his maiden season in England, after he recorded an impressive return of 28 in as 46 matches for United.

The Premier League have confirmed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been released by Manchester United.

The 35-year-old, season ended prematurely in April, when he suffered a cruciate ligament injury in Manchester United's Europa League quarter-final tie against Anderlecht which kept him out for the remainder of the season.

Ibrahimovic is now recuperating after undergoing a successful surgery, but it seems Mourinho and Manchester United are not patient enough to wait on the 35-year-old striker, as they are now in the market for a new top nine to fill the void left by the big Swede.
