James Bond Actor, Roger Moore Dies Age 89
British Actor Roger Moore, who played the role of James Bond for over 20 years died Tuesday aged 89, the sad news was announced by his children on twitter.
“It is with a heavy heart that we must announce our loving father, Sir Roger Moore, has passed away today in Switzerland after a short but brave battle with cancer,” they said in a statement published on Twitter.
Moore gained fame in the 1960s when he played the role of Simon Tamplar in British television show "the saints" before staring alongside Tony Curtis in in “The Persuaders” in the 1970s.
He got his big break in 1973 at the age of 45 when he was chosen to act as James Bond the novelist Ian Fleming’s fictional secret agent.
