Hazard emphasizes Chelsea's title ambitions in 3-1 degrading of Arsenal
Chelsea continued their dominance in the premier league with an emphatic 3-1 victory over a struggling Arsenal side that has lost 4 of their last 9 matches. Chelsea tooked the lead after just 13 minutes of play, when Marcos Alonso nodded in the rebound from a Diego Costa header.
Arsenal did tried to restore parity with some clear cut chances but Cortious produced some excellent saves to deny the gunners. Eden Hazard then produced what was unarguably the highlight of the match by mesmerizing the gunners defense with some slick skills which got the whole of Stamford bridge up on their feet including the almighty Roman Abrahimovic, before slotting the ball pass a helpless Petr Cech just 8 minutes into the second half to make it 2-0 in favour of Chelsea.
Arsenal's hope of pulling off a dramatic comeback was all but dashed when an infamous blunder from Petr Cech gifted former Gunners captain Fabregas an opened net, and the spainard made no mistake in slotting in Chelsea's third goal of the match. Oliver Giroud gave Arsenal a consolation goal in 92nd minutes but it was a little too late as the damaged has already been done.
Chelsea are now 12 points ahead of their nearest rivals and with under 14 games remaining in the premier league, the blues are continually marching towards a 2nd league title in as many as 3 seasons thanks to the managerial acumen of an Italian genus called Antonio Conte.
