Three Ritualist In Possession Of Human Skulls Arrested In Ogun State




Police in Ogun state have arrested three suspected ritualist who were in possession of two human skulls. The suspects, Popoola, Aliu Ajiroba and Jimoh Ijiola where arrested when the police attached to ayetoro division were on a routine patrol.

As indicated by the PPRO, the pair of Popoola and Ajiroba were accosted on a motorcycle along Idagba Olodo Road, with a sack which looked suspicious.

Oyeyemi, said a search was carried out on them and the two human skulls were found in the said sack.

He said the two were arrested on the spot and taken to Ayetoro Police Station where they admitted to the investigators that the skulls were given to them by Jimoh Ijiola who live in Erinpa area of the town.

Oyeyemi said the Divisional Police Officer, Ayetoro Division, Makinde Kayode, from that point, took detectives to the home of the suspect where he was likewise arrested.

He said, “In his own statement, Ijiola denied being the person that gave them the skulls, but said that they all got them from neighbouring Republic of Benin and that their intention was to use it for money rituals.”

The state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has requested the case to be transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Abeokuta, for advance examination and conceivable indictment of the suspects.
